Reviving Khadi
I am khadi. I am made of totally 100% natural fibers. I am handspun and handwoven by skilled artisans living in different rural parts of India. I do not generate any environmental pollution and so I am an “eco-fabric”. I am cool in summers and warm in winters.
“If we have the ‘khadi spirit’ in us, we would surround ourselves with simplicity in every walk of life. The ‘khadi spirit’ means infinite patience. For those who know anything about the production of khadi, will know how patiently the spinners and the weavers have to toil at their trade, and even so must we have patience while we are spinning the thread of Swaraj”,
Mahatma Gandhi
The Kaatn Trail is a new-age reinterpretation of this quintessential Indian textile, making it very appealing to millennial generation globally.
With a four-fold increase in working women population, we believed it’s imperative that we design and develop styles that adorn our work-wear wardrobe while keeping environment and social sustainability in spotlight. This embarked the origin of The Kaatn Trail.
Regrettably at present markets are flooded with cheap quality synthetic fibers and chemically dyed fabrics that are not just harmful for our skin and health but also immensely perilous for environment as a whole.
At TKT, we bring into play natural dyed Indian heritage textile like khadi and blend it with contemporary silhouette for all the conscious buyers across the globe. Why we love khadi is something which we have shared in the past and will do it time and again! Khadi is natural, it’s handmade and it has innumerable social and environmental merits.
